01Purpose and acceptance
These terms of use (the "Terms") govern access to and use of the PrintSpot platform — mobile app, desktop print agent and related services (the "Service"), operated in a personal capacity by Brel Nosse, the creator of the service ("PrintSpot", "we"). PrintSpot is not a company; it is an independent personal project.
By creating an account or using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and accepted these Terms. If you do not agree to them, do not use the Service.
02Definitions
Customer: a user who submits a document for printing and places an order.
Shop owner: a user operating one or more approved print shops, who receives and fulfils orders.
Shop: a printing outlet created by a Shop owner and approved by our team.
Order: a printing or photocopying request placed by a Customer with a Shop.
Escrow: the mechanism by which the funds of a Mobile Money payment are held until the Customer confirms receipt.
03Description of the service
PrintSpot is a marketplace connecting Customers who have documents to print with print Shops located near campuses. PrintSpot provides the technical intermediation (document upload, matching, payment, tracking) but does not carry out the printing itself: that is the responsibility of Shop owners.
PrintSpot acts as an intermediary and as escrow agent for payments. The printing contract is entered into between the Customer and the Shop owner.
04Account and registration
- Registration uses a Cameroonian phone number, verified with a one-time code (OTP) sent over WhatsApp messaging or by SMS, depending on how the Service is configured.
- You undertake to provide accurate information and keep it up to date. A phone number can be linked to only one account.
- You are responsible for keeping access to your phone confidential and for any activity carried out from your account.
- The Service is intended for people with the legal capacity to enter into contracts. Minors may use it only under the responsibility of a legal guardian.
05Use by customers
When placing an order, you upload one or more documents and choose a Shop, then a handover method (pickup or delivery). Each document has its own options: service, black & white or colour output, format, single- or double-sided, number of copies, finishing and free-form instructions.
- You declare that you hold the necessary rights over the documents you submit for printing.
- You grant the chosen Shop and PrintSpot a limited, non-exclusive and temporary licence, for the sole purpose of processing, printing and delivering your order.
- An order can only be placed with an approved and open Shop; a closed, deactivated or unapproved Shop does not accept orders.
- A Shop can be chosen from the list in the app or by scanning its QR code. The QR code merely opens the order page of the corresponding Shop: it commits you to nothing until you confirm, and the same conditions apply (Shop open, account signed in, name provided).
- The price is calculated from the rates published by the Shop and the actual content of your order. For a PDF document, the number of pages billed is the one counted by the Service; for other formats, the value you state is used, up to a cap, and the Shop owner may propose a price adjustment before starting production.
06Use by shop owners
- Becoming a Shop owner requires creating a Shop (location, opening hours, rates) and providing the requested documents. The Shop only becomes active once approved by our team.
- The Shop owner undertakes to fulfil accepted orders diligently, to honour the displayed rates, and to process Customers' documents solely for the purpose of fulfilling the order.
- The subscription plans (Normal free, Premium, Ultra Premium) determine the number of shops and access to automatic printing through the desktop agent. Paid subscriptions are settled in Mobile Money and are renewable; the effective plan drops back to Normal at expiry if it is not renewed.
- Before any plan change, the app shows the benefits gained or lost. Upgrading takes effect immediately once payment is confirmed.
- Downgrading. If you operate more shops than the target plan allows, you must designate which ones to deactivate; the change is only applied once that choice is made. A shop with orders or transactions in progress cannot be deactivated: those orders must first be completed.
- Expiry without renewal. Absent any choice on your part, the Service automatically deactivates the surplus shops, keeping the oldest ones and sparing those with an order in progress. You are informed by notification.
- A deactivated shop is not deleted. It stops being visible to Customers and stops receiving orders, but its data and history are retained; it is reactivated automatically if you take up a plan allowing more shops again.
- The Shop owner is solely responsible for the compliance of their activity with applicable regulations (tax, commercial).
07Payments, escrow and fees
- Payment is made in Mobile Money (MTN, Orange) through our provider, or in cash on handover depending on what the Shop offers.
- For Mobile Money, the funds are placed in escrow and are only released to the Shop owner after the Customer confirms receipt, or automatically after a set period if no dispute has been raised.
- The price displayed to the Customer covers the applicable fees: the Shop owner receives the order amount, and PrintSpot keeps a service commission. The fee breakdown is presented before any payment.
- The amount of an order is established from the rates published by the Shop: per-sheet price of the chosen service (photocopying, printing, formatting, or a custom service offered by the Shop), format coefficient, number of copies, and a finishing surcharge billed per copy (binding, stapling, lamination). Delivery fees are added where applicable.
- The total is computed by the Service from those rates; it is displayed continuously while you build the order and shown again before confirmation. The Shop owner may propose a price adjustment, which you remain free to accept or decline.
- Some amounts below the Mobile Money provider's minimum may have to be settled in cash.
08Cancellation and refunds
An order may be cancelled under the conditions presented in the app. The refunded amount, net of any costs already incurred, is calculated and displayed before confirmation. In the event of a dispute over an order, PrintSpot may step in to arbitrate the release or refund of the funds held in escrow.
09Content and intellectual property
You retain all rights over the documents you submit. You warrant that they do not infringe third-party rights and are not unlawful in any way.
The PrintSpot brand, its logo, the interface and the code of the Service are the property of Brel Nosse, the creator of the service, and may not be reproduced without authorisation.
10Prohibited uses
In particular, it is prohibited to:
- submit for printing any content that is illegal, infringing, defamatory or that violates the privacy of others;
- impersonate a third party or provide false information;
- circumvent the payment, escrow or shop approval mechanisms;
- attempt to access documents or accounts that are not yours, or to disrupt the operation of the Service.
11Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or close an account, or hide a Shop, in the event of a breach of these Terms, a confirmed report or fraudulent activity. A trust indicator may be associated with accounts based on their behaviour (orders honoured, reports).
12Liability
PrintSpot provides an intermediation platform and takes reasonable steps to ensure its availability and security, without guaranteeing the complete absence of interruption or error. The material quality of the printing is the responsibility of the Shop owner. To the extent permitted by law, PrintSpot's liability shall not exceed the amount of the order concerned.
13Personal data
The processing of your data is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms an integral part of these Terms.
14Changes to these terms
We may amend these Terms to reflect changes in the Service or in applicable regulations. The date of the last update appears at the top of the page; continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance.
15Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by Cameroonian law. Failing an amicable settlement, any dispute falls under the jurisdiction of the competent Cameroonian courts.
